The story is about a 15 years old gypsy boy living in a gypsy village somewhere in Eastern Slovakia where after his father dies he is pushed into doing things (stealing) he does not want to do. The actors playing the gypsy characters are non-actors real life gypsies and the most of the dialogues are in their roma language which gives a movies very authentic feeling. The movie was filmed in authentic gypsy village in eastern Slovakia. for me the main problem were certain details of the movies and the ending of the movie. In the movie theater I was pleased to see a group of gypsy youngsters that came to see this movie and they laughed at couple of funny lines. The movie managed to kept me interested till the end and I am glad I saw it.
beautiful imagines, interesting interviews, real Africa with its real modern problems. The beginning of the movie can be heartbreaking but the movie offers hope for future and some of the solutions for the problems Malawi is facing. It will also encourage you to question your own life and the meaning of the happiness in our society. This movie helped me to discover Malawi on the map and I will always remember the faces on those kids. Celebrities like Madonna can and should use their popularity among young people to talk about issues we normally rather not to talk about.
I have always been a huge fan of Imax movies that take me on a journey to places normally people do not get to see. This movies is one of them and provides you with many terrific shots of a wildlife in Okavanga Delta (Botswana). Furthermore it gives you a glimpse of cameras and the crew while filming. That really made me feel like I was part of the group and really there shooting the scenery and the animals. Thought they did not push on any major environmental insight about the Delta - the beauty they showed me left an impression and I hope this place will stay preserved and minimal human intervention will be allowed - as it is very unique place.
