Issa and Awkwafina are amazing actresses. Super beautiful and charming. But this role is just not for them. I dont know how to put this any other way than them just being to blunt and straightforward. Very little nuance and when you then see them next to Emma, it becomes even more apparent.
Its such a cool premise ruined by bad casting. And its not these very talented actresses fault either, they do what they do and they do it well. Its just not for this imo. It would be like casting Leslie Nielsen as a serious James Bond kinda gyu. He is the, imo, funniest gag actor ever to live, but him playing a serious role - not gonna happen.

This is Black mirror when its at its best. So dystopian yet not really. So close to life, yet not really. The plot here could 100% happen and if we had the technology it is 1000% what would happen. I have absolutely no doubt about it. The greed of corporations and billionaires is unmatched. The ones who suffer are "Common people". The teacher, the construction worker, the cashier. And that is so insanely well told in this episode here.
It reminds me in a way of Nosedive and a few of the other great episodes of Black mirror. Episodes that are so f'ed up, but could also already be reality now or very very soon.

I just cant even. I dont know where to begin with this episode. I dont know where it was going to go, maybe im not very smart or good at predicting things.
But wouw. I want to show this to everyone humanly possible. It was so hauntingly brilliant - and Paul Giamatti is just on another level once more. I really dont want to spoil anything for anyone, please just see it.
I think we all had something along these lines. A relationship that broke off, maybe not in the best of ways. Some regret, lingering hurt.
I know I experienced those things. What did I miss in my own blind self pity? That is the question I will ask myself after watching this. What was my part in the break?
