After seeing the trailer for this, I was hooked! The story is told in multiple characters POV. It's all really well done. But when the villain is revealed, thing fall apart. Even the Director acknowledges that there are many plot holes, though he doesn't mind.
Positives!
+Amazing acting from main cast. Garner and Brolin.
+Expertly shot and filmed.
+Tension, heavy themes, feels like a real world.
Negatives!
-Villain has no background or lore.
-Villain has way too much freedom considering the crimes.
-Plot holes abound, implausible situations plague the end.
-The director not caring about the incomplete story.
Overall, the movie started as an 8-9/10. But after the villain introduction, it lost steam. A flashy character with no background or motive. Ending did tie up the story though.

As someone who has never seen Rosemarys Baby, I really enjoyed Apartment 7A. Obviously the stories are going to be similar, because the residents of the Bramford are trying to achieve the same goal.
Positives!
+Nails the 1960s feel.
+Amazing acting from Julia Garner and Diane Wiest.
+Creative theater productions.
+the connections of theater and dreams was great.
Negatives!
-Ending was predictable considering that this is a prequel.
-Some lack luster CGI.
Overall, this is very well made. It could be considered "artsy" horror and I'm okay with that. My opinion might change once is see Rosemarys Baby.

Saw an early screening of Ron Howards Eden and was pleasantly surprised. Never heard of it before this. True story of people fleeing to the Galapagos Islands from the tensions in Europe. Ron Howard does a great job, plus a Hans Zimmer score.
Positives!
+Great acting by entire cast. Genuine performances.
+Slower pace allows for more build up of tensions.
+Great display of human nature.
Negatives!
-Old world desaturation visual filter. (but they don't use it for the promo stills or trailer as much).
-Plot is sometimes too obvious.
-Dr. Ritters (Law) assessments are too surface level.
Honestly, I wasn't expecting this movie to be as good as it was. And thats on the cast giving great performances. It is a slower film that takes its time to build up. There's a documentary about the same subject called The Galapagos Affair that may be worth checking out.
