I really wanted to like this movie. Great cast, great director and vampires. I was so looking forward to being scared but you are more likely to be scared watching an episode of Friends. Unfortunately, this film is a mess. When will directors learn, if we can't see it (ie. Why so dark?), it sucks. The acting is really shocking. Lily Rose Depp has a decent performance as does Bill Skarsgard. Everyone else seems to think this is a farce. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is laughable. Who knew that William Defoe was so short?
Cut to the chase, this film is not good. If you must see it, wait for it to hit your streaming service. Do not pay extra. It isn't worth it.

I have always been a fan of Jessica Lange, but this is the performance of her career. I truly loved this movie. The cast is supurb, Kathy Bates gives a solid performance and Lily Rabe's daughter to Lange will make your heart ache. My mother had LBD and I found the depictions of the disease to be extremely accurate. My mother hid her disease as long as she could, so I found that part of the story to be especially accurate. I was also impressed by the fantasy aspect of the play as a counter point to the fantasy aspects of the actual disease.
I would highly recommend this movie to anyone. Ms Lange deserves an Oscar in my opinion.

I really wanted to like Maestro, but I only lasted 15 minutes. Every scene had Bradley Cooper grinning at the camera like the village idiot. That big fake nose, causes him to look cross eyed. I read the articles where Bradley Cooper talks about the nose, but it is VERY distracting. Of course, it doesn't move, making his face just look more creepy. It seems that Bradley's desire to win an oscar has him choosing these grand movies that in my opinion just don't work. I didn't watch A Star is Born, not because of Bradley, but Lady Gaga. If the academy rewards this picture with an award I will be sadly disappointed.
