This episode is a clear sign that this series has run out of ideas and needs murdering itself. Yet another festival taking place somewhere in Midsomer and the inevitable murders linked to it.
Apart from the second rate acting of most of the characters - refugees from some dismal soap opera - we're supposed to ignore ludicrous events and plot twists.
Somebody cuts a perfect circular hole in a pane of glass with a laser - yes honestly - which is just nonsense.
The village is supposed to have a Sheriff who is elected - also complete nonsense.
Staff off sick in the local police station have apparently come down with chicken pox - really?
The wife of one of the victims won't get her inheritance because her husband put his inheritance in a separate bank account - just ignorant twaddle.
The murderer somehow gets hold of a high-powered Taser - probably from the same shop where murderers get their cyanide.
Just complete @#@#@#@#

This has to be one of the oddest Bergerac episodes. Often in long running series you get the occasional episode where characters suddenly start behaving in uncharacteristic ways - this is one of them.
The generally cosy atmosphere of this series is suddenly replaced by something more hard-edged. Nothing wrong with that but when your main character starts behaving in an irrational manner it lets the whole thing down. It's not helped by a fashion-designer couple who, we are expected to believe, have so little regard for their only daughter that they allow a complete under-age stranger with no references to look after her and show no emotion when she disappears.
