Uncommon Valor is a great motion picture.
Moving.
Fast paced.
Exceptionally acted and directed and written.
I first saw this film on VHS as a kid and always loved it but as an adult now, the film resonates on a whole new level.
While the film has been accused of flag waving and Americanism, at its heart it's a human story.
As I said, the performances and the direction and the script are flawless.
The resolution will move you to tears.
Hackman is simply outstanding and he gets back up by some of the best character actors in the business. All of whom shine in their roles.
Ted Kotcheff has always been an underrated director and Uncommon Valor is his masterpiece imo.
Check this film out. You won't be disappointed.

I don't know where to begin or what yo say.
If feels like massive chunks of the narrative are missing. Things just happen for the sake of happening and everything and everyone is vague as hell.
Nothing really feels natural. It's all just a big hot mess of hallucinatory imagery and confusingly shot action scenes.
I don't know how or why this exists but it's certainly an oddity.
Check it out for the curiosity value. That's about all there is.
The cast is wasted here and I'm not really sure what the intent behind the pic or it's story is.
Not a new kind of action film. Just a huge head scratcher.

So many characters. So many plot threads. The title is apt.
There's a lot of naysayers on here complaining about this film. I don't get it. Sure it hardly reinvents the wheel in regards to the action genre, but it's a fun ride while it plays out.
The cast is superb but I feel there wasn't enough Tom Hardy. His character was interesting but underused IMO.
The action scenes are the key selling point with this film. Of course everyone will compare them to Evans's previous work but they shouldn't. This film is its own beast and I enjoyed the immense carnage and destruction.
Seems people can't just enjoy an action film anymore. Shame. Havoc is a blast while it's on. Nothing we haven't seen before but heaps of fun. The two best sequences are the night club brawl and the cabin blowout at the end.
Don't listen to the negative reviews. Enjoy it for what it is.
