I don't think I've ever been this emotional about a horror movie before. Pari (2018) isn't just a film-it's an experience, a beautifully crafted masterpiece that pierces straight through the heart. From start to finish, it held me captive, making me feel like I was living in its world rather than just watching it.
The emotional depth in this movie is insane. Pyali's pain, Arnav's guilt, and Ruksana's sacrifice-all of it was so well thought out, so perfectly portrayed, that I couldn't hold back my emotions. The climax shattered me. Ruksana choosing to drink the poison despite her natural instincts, her final words reassuring Arnav that their child was human because it was born out of love-this scene will stay with me for the rest of my life.
Anushka Sharma's performance? Beyond words. Her authenticity, intensity, and raw emotion made me feel every moment. I wasn't just watching-I was there, living as Arnav, feeling everything alongside her. Her acting has earned my deepest respect and admiration.
The direction, screenplay, and storytelling are all chef's kiss. Everything was so beautifully connected-the themes of love, loss, redemption, and the supernatural were blended seamlessly. Even with a couple of minor flaws (like the ifrit's sound design), they don't take away from the sheer brilliance of the movie.
I genuinely don't understand the low IMDb ratings. Maybe people expected just a horror movie with cheap jump scares, but Pari is so much more than that. It's rare-almost impossible-for me to love a movie to this extent, but here I am, emotional and grateful for having experienced something so profoundly beautiful. I won't forget this film until the day I die.

Grave Encounters is a below-average horror movie that fails to deliver on the potential of the found footage genre. The casting and acting are just fine but leave much room for improvement. They manage to get the job done but never rise above mediocrity.
The biggest letdown is the depiction of the supernatural. The demon faces-like the doctors in the end, the patient at the corner of the room, and the lady in the blood tub pulling TC inside-are poorly executed and uninspiring. If you can't creatively portray a demon or supernatural entity, it's better to leave it to the viewer's imagination. The human brain fears the unknown far more than something visibly cheap and unconvincing.
Some sequences, like Houston being thrown and killed by an invisible entity (not even visible on camera), feel pointless and lack any narrative impact. The plot itself is lackluster and amateurish, making it hard to stay invested. It almost seems like a low-budget, rushed attempt to cash in on the found footage trend rather than a thoughtfully crafted film.
Overall, Grave Encounters is a disappointing watch. Unless you're entirely out of options, I wouldn't recommend spending your time on it. For fans of the genre, there are far better found footage films out there that respect the art of building tension and fear.
