From a fans take of this series it was. Hard to watch. Way too many liberties were taken with the characters and they made nobody look like they had any Redeeming qualities.
The rivaly with LA was so intense back in the 80s that it was all anyone talked about going into the playoffs. We wanted LA every year in the finals. Couldn't stand them.... But at the same time there was immense respect and this series goes off the rails making the actual people involved look like a bunch of jerks.
After the KAJ scene telling the kid to F off I had to Google that just cause I said to myself. Was Kareem that much of an Ahole. From then on I found myself watching 1 hour episodes in 15 minutes from fast forwarding over so much sec and BS liberties taken with the people involved. Who I hope sue for character defamation.
And Johnny Most huh?? Did anyone bother to see how Most looked or acted before writing his clown character for him... so stupid.
Showtime Lakers got what they didn't deserve, which was Showtime Hollywood writing a story for them (without actual Lakers input).
This was an amazing story if you just stuck to the story. So so sad.

Only giving this 3 stars because Shia is a good actor, other than that I was completely confused as to why Padre Pio was even in this movie, as it didn't seem to have much to do with his life.
Being a Catholic i'm sure I'm the target audience they were looking to draw and even I did not like this movie. I have followed enough of Padre Pio's life online to know that all of the main parts were left out, and that is perplexing because there is enough story there to have actually made a movie about just Padre Pio. I am at a loss for why the Director would bring in somebody as good as Shia LaBeouf and not let his character be the focus of the movie. It was strange to say the least.
