For a long time, we see many sci-fi films that save humanity. Various surreal and theological ways of salvation become a mainstream. The main characters went through various hardships, but were ultimately saved by a mysterious force. Physical mutation, time travel, magic, and various fantasy settings make the sci-fi movies less sci-fi. However, this film breaks away from that paradigm. It unites the world into an unstoppable and unprecedentedly powerful whole. The stunning visual effects and bgm immerse people in it, as if we are experiencing the painful years in the film together. It is so real, as if it were a documentary that happened in the future. And that is a real sci-fi film, truly.
Almost all animated films in the past have a villain that needs to be defeated by the main character. Only by defeating the monster can one grow up and become a hero. This film breaks away from such a traditional paradigm. It focuses on a 9-year-old introverted girl, trying to describe her inner world with an extremely gorgeous color. It looks like she fell into a fairytale, surreal world with magic. Colors and darkness just like dreams and reality. Combining with heartwarming music, it unleashes a powerful emotional impact. I believe this film is of great significance for the development of children's mental health.
