  • Looks great, but is a missed opportunity.

I went to the world premiere of this in Boise, because a friend of mine was in it and I was very intrigued by the premise. (My friend got completely cut out, but I digress)

I'll admit that it has amazing cinematography, good lighting, and a great production value. It also has a good Thomas Newman like score, but the main problem I had was that it chose to present the unchristian culture of today in a way that I just couldn't take seriously. (Scenes regarding a musical, robbing a bank, and fantasy books made me and the audience do a visible facepalm).

The pacing was really odd at times, there were too many fades to black, and in general there were a lot of baffling decisions made in the script. Certain scenes with important exposition happened so fast, it threw me off. Also there is a key character that we see no evidence of being a Christian and then after something happens to her, people act like she was a believer the whole time.

Don't get me wrong it had the right heart behind it, but a lot of the performances and the dialogue felt forced and unnatural.

I feel really bad, because they obviously put so much time and money into it. But they requested our honest thoughts to be put on IMDB so I hope I was able to offer some constructive criticism.

Lauren, I wish you well in your future endeavors. God Bless.

  • Vastly Surpassed My Expectations

This is a example of a show that the critics don't like, but the audience will love. Don't believe me, just look at the Rotten Tomatoes score.

I've been watching the original show for the past few years and have loved it. I was excited when I heard about this, but skeptical that it would be nearly as good.

I am happy to say that it is truly great and comforting. The first episode has a great tribute to John Mahoney and Kelsey Grammar is as good as ever as playing Frasier.

The Chapter Titles and the theme song of tossed salads and scrambled eggs are back in HD quality. The writing feels very similar to the original show while still feeling like it could take place in 2023. The cast seems good, especially Frasier's professor friend. He steals the show in several moments throughout the episodes. Also Niles and Daphne's son, David, is a great combination of the two characters.

It will be good to see how the father and son relationship with Frasier and Freddy will play out in the future. So far, off to a great start.

    P. S. Goodbye Seattle, we love you!
