This is a good film. And I'm not just talking about its solid story and the excellent score/cinematography and the outstanding lead actors - in a way that's hard to articulate, something about this film is deeply ... *good.* As in, afterwards I felt like I was better off because I'd watched it.
For several days afterwards I kept thinking about it, and the way that it stuck with me kind of reminded me of the first time I saw Shawshank. (Of course TSR is one of the greatest movies ever made and DH is an independent that might have been created without a budget; I'm just saying that both films got to me in a way that rarely happens).
DH isn't perfect. People who hate everything can find details to pick on, but it gets the important things right.
I'm writing a review because independent films frequently (and often rightly) get overlooked, but Devil's Hollow is a film that deserves to be seen.
