Yes...I have watched "Manikbabur Megh". I want to watch it again, and again...and again. This is a movie that proves that the language of cinema can be so powerful and strong, and yet so subtle and so poetic. The journey of an ordinary man in this materialistic world can make him quite lonely. His bonding with nature may appear misfit. Yet he walks alone, maintaining balance between duty and passion. Every aspect of the movie, e.g., direction, production, acting and cinematography is excellent. I shall remember Chandan Sen for his brilliant acting for the rest of my life. Every frame talks about something. The end is so beautiful...it can't be expressed in words.
Long time back Premendra Mitra made a movie titled "Chupi chupi ase" based on Agatha Christie's The Mouse Trap. I saw a Bengali drama "Indurkol" based on the same play, made by Shoubhonik. This series, though having good casting and nice photography somehow fails to live up to it. From the first episode one can smell the rat (mouse?) and it lost the tempo gradually. The mystery is over even before the last episode. Too much was asked from Sohini Sarkar and she did too much, appearing artificial. In the end everything just fell in place too easily. It is a one-time watch, should and could have been much better.
