  • What else could we ask for from Tim?

This is one of those movies that I'm gonna rank lower than I should because I had extremely high and maybe u fair expectations - I think.

I felt so confused and conflicted and awkward and dirty after watching this film, so I think it accomplished exactly what it was going for.

The DMT scene and the interaction w the welcome home party were hilarious and perfect. My expectations were constantly broken and twisted, just as Tim Robinson would want them to be.

I THINK my biggest complaint is that I really wanted a movie where Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd had a beautiful ditsy bromance that reflected the stale world of middle aged man friendship. But thats not the direction they wanted to go, and that's okay. But I still want that movie and I'll be waiting for it.

Either way, Tim's oddness prevailed and that is a win. He made me uncomfortable while also hysterical, what else can we ask for from this man?

  • How to make a movie

I really just don't know what else to give it. The more I hear about this film the more respectable it is. Concepts explored in new lights, lovable characters, interesting commentary - and that one scene about music OH my goodness that is why movies exist. It's weird to call this a refreshing film, because of how unique it is, but it just feels like Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Göransson just sat down and got to work on something they truly believed in. There's something in this film for everyone. The metaphor isn't too in your face, but it's digestible enough for all audiences to learn and feel something important. Sort of a personal win for my own head cannon but I'm so grateful that Hailee Steinfeld got an opportunity in a live action film to show how ridiculous her range and talent is. Get this queen in more movies.

  • Lives Up to the Merit

To immediately disregard the review I just did on The Lost World, this is an older film that feels timeless and representative of struggles and sensations that still exist and always will.

By placing the audience within a 2 hour timeframe alongside Cléo, we feel so close to her and the paranoia she's experiencing. At times it can be hard to relate to her because of the luxurious life she lives, but fearing mortality and perceived beauty is something that everyone goes through to some degree.

So many creative camera movements and symbols of Cléo's fears. It makes sense that this film is recognized as one of the greats.

For a film made in the 60s, it is strangely reminiscent of the mental-health/ man vs self themes in modern media. Lives up to the hype and feels worthy of the analysis it receives.
