Beauty and the Beast (1987)
A much different movie than the one by Disney
First, it took me a while to find this at IMDB. Search by movie title and using the name John Savage failed. But after using the name Rebecca De Momay I finally found it.
The first time I played it the accompanying music in either Fortissimo interspersed with pianissimo was a distinct turn off. Endure it or tap the no sound using just the text during these periods with your sound controller with text turned on.
I found that the producers originally planned on having. 16 of these movies but stopped with just these nine as part of a complete set (mine was released under MGM). Here they are:
The Frog Prince (1986)
Sleeping Beauty (1987)
The Emperor's New Clothes (1987),
Rumplestiltskin (1987)
Snow White (1987),
Beauty and the Beast (1987)
Hansel and Gretel (1987)
Puss in Boots (1988)
Red Riding Hood (1987)
Once I got past those horrible sound control problems at the start, the movie itself was charming even with all those unknown name actors. The photograpy was good to excellent. The film really was top quality except that bad sound control at the start. If that had been done right I would have given this movie an 8 or 9 rating.

It is great to put it into loop mode!
I purchased this on DVD when if first came out and recommended it to the Liberty University to put in some centralized location. I guess they never did it. They never replied so that ended it. Jan Nickman created the video while David Arkenstone did his usual one man orchestra.
Since at one time I had David Arkenstone's In The Wake of the Wind was why purchased it. I went to write a review of it some months back but the DVD didn't seem to be selling any more. So I stopped writing the rreview. Only 33 people had the music video that checked in here. It has four modes. Mode 1 is "Play With Spoken Word". Mode 2 is Play Without Spoken Word. Mode 3 is Chapter Select. Mode 4 has three items. The first is to loop the movie without Spoken Word. The Second is Featirette "Sequoiahs the Andient Giants, and the Third is "Sacred Earth Official Trailer"
I usually put it into loop mode and turn the volume down low to waft me off to sleep. Is anybody going to purchase it this time around? I don't know. In case you are wondering many people make their own recording of other videos that loop. So for the longest time I felt like I was only one of the few people who had a one of a kind work of art. Their are places you rent a play time of it which I would recommend. I really love Monet's. Rouen Cathedral paintings and all of the Impressionist painters and totally abandoned Picasso and others. So maybe this is just a special thing to me. But I see the Rouen Cathedral painting as separate persoalities from each other and yes I like Monet's pond as well. David Arkenstone has also produced new journey type video music which you can listen to on the social websites.

Three versions of Snow Queen?
This is the Russian version. Walt Disney made a version based on Hans Christian Anderson's story in 1960 and refused to let it be shown after just a few short years. I will never understand their decision. I like it much better than Disney's 21st century version called Frozen.
The 1960 Disney versiwn was even better than this Russian version which was first shown in 1957. But the Russian version is superb without any drippy sentimentality.
The Russian version is sort of like a ballet. It feels like the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy in Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake. By that I mean it is a more faithful version of Hans Christian Anderson's story than anything else I have watched except perhaps that 1960 version from Disney. This movie really was created for older people or children with advanced viewing acumen.

Out of Chaos comes Perfect Order
Why is the title in English but the movie is in French? CC is in just English and Spanishl. Not in French? In case you are wondering, it is a spoof. There are too many things going wrong that are warped into right for me.
Everybody misunderstands EVERYTHING! But every person's misunderstanding does NOT match anybody else's misunderstanding! And almost every part that an actor is playing they think it is REALLY about them rather than the person they are acting that part. Can something sensical come from nonsense? They do their best to make total nonsense out of a perfectly good French novel that makes a lot of sense.
So in the end they make it so that out of Chaos comes Perfect Order.
