This movie portrays the best and worst traits in a decent man. A juror tries to be expelled from the jury, with good reason, but unsuccessfully. The story is heartbreaking, because something that could happen to any of us, happened to him, and he doesn't know how to solve the moral dilemma in front of him. He has reasons to do the right thing, as well as to do the wrong thing. In any case, Justice must be served but will not be just. I believe this case is tipycal of faulty trials anywhere because the Justice system not always keeps in mind that politics and ambition can ruin lives instead of serving the People.
For a long time I have known that the battle between good and evil has existed since the beginning of times. Most people have struggled to maintain their lives up straight. While others have tried to destroy everything good in life, family, values, respect for others' lives and compassion towards those who need help; helping, loving and sharing makes us human and also brings joy to our souls. This movie portrays this old battle, that last part that actually started 2020 and goes on towards the worst possible scenario. The acting is superb. I still remember Neil Patrick Flanery doing ligh characters in romantic comedies, and am greatly impressed by the huge talent he displays in this movie. You can watch the most terrifying scenes without any special effects, because they consist only on watching his superb performance, paying close attention to his words... because everything he says happens to be exactly the truth in real life. Maybe if a friend or even a priest told you, you wold dismiss his words as fantasies, so maybe that's why you should watch this movie instead.
Guillermo Francella is an excellent actor both as a comedian and in drama. He has done other works such as "The secret in her eyes", along with Ricardo Darín, which is a drama about a dark period in the Argentinian political and social turmoil in the 70s and 80s. Also the very enjoyable "My masterpiece" along with Luis Brandoni, and many more works.
This story describes a very narcissistic man and, in my opinion, a classic psychopath. He is absolutely wicked. Everything he does is for his own benefit.
At the same time, we get to know the residents of the building. Some are very bad, but none reach the level of wickedness of this character. It is very funny and also a great study of personalities done in a very pleasant and entertaining way.
