I found this series from its music, "Theme for Scanty and Knee Socks" is my favorite. I went back afterwards and listened to some of the other tracks and they were a bit... uncomfortable from all the moaning.
But anyways! I really like the aesthetic. I also found the main characters compelling. Girlboss~! For Stocking, I relate to the constant need for sugar. For panty, I appreciate her confidence and unapologeticness. The demons were also super cool, glad we get to see more of them in season 2 (probably won't watch though). It was a nice trope reversal.
As for the episodes, they were overall pretty good. For episode 1, the sheer amount of cop cars, and the delayed wind gag were really funny to me in that episode. It's a little crude (jokes and language) but that's what I like about it: it feels realistic for two angels who don't want to be there
Of course, it's not without complaints. The super short episodes prevent much from happening. Nonstop (sometimes repetitive) gags, cool fight, then beat enemy. There were some repulsive episodes I could not watch like the nose-picking or sperm episode.
What did they pull with that ending though TT. Ah yes, defeat the eldritch horror in 20 minutes. There might be some problems with power escalation in season 2 after you pull off something like that. Also wdym "revirginized"?? The sex jokes stayed reasonable for the season, but then I believe it got unnecessary at the end.
Overall, it was a fun experience and I don't regret my time but I could've lived my life without watching, thus the 7 stars.

I wasn't originally going to watch this but as more and more people talked about it I just had to know what was up. It was honestly pretty funny and had good lore that could potentially be interpreted as societal commentary. Vine boom? Hell yeah. Other players failing jumps? Comedy gold. I do however think the first movie is better than the second because you can feel the tension of failing these one block jumps. Knowing how easy one block jumps are, being able to add tension to them is pretty impressive. It's also funny to laugh at them for being so bad at that level. I also appreciate how it's clear the protagonist isn't invincible (despite being saved multiple times) because it shows them falling or having near-death experiences (although it can get repetitive)
My one complaint is that the periodic recaps were a bit of a drag but I think they add to the humor and they really weren't that long. I do also think that the show was written for a younger audience to easily follow since there's not a lot of nuance and due to the frequent recaps. Towards the end I was getting a little nauseous and tired of watching parkour for 2 hours straight. I'm also a little upset that there never was any threat as the instigation for the second movie, oh well. If they'd just done nothing everything would have been okay.

Wow this was good. Disclaimer that it's been a bit since watching and writing this review. It reminds me a lot of hell of a boss in the sense that you have a cast of morally dubious characters who are fulfilling contracts. Where I think the show shines is its ability to make you care about the characters. There's Demencia, who's crazy good at what she does, leans wholeheartedly into being a villain, and has an unreciprocated crush on Black Hat. Her energy is just so contagious and I love it. Then there's Dr. Flugslys who's really smart yet shy and nervous. I love him 'cause he's such a goofy inventor. Then there is five oh five in here doesn't love an indestructible squishable bear. Smith combined with solid likable side villains let's this show shine. And there's something just so good about movies about villains (barring Despicable me > 1), likely because you can see the nuance in their lives, which is realistic to life. Eagerly awaiting more episodes but not too optimistic they're coming.
