I can only assume this script and story has been produced by some AI that has been force fed the worst sci-fi that can be found, definitely not any actual Asimov Foundation books, and come up with the most empty, cliched, incoherent, meaningless, and frankly uninteresting and boring version of "Foundation" possible.
I tend to go for surrealism and abstract stories, but this syrupy heavy-handed self-indulgent self-importance just shows the focus on the clone empire is a narrative dead-end the show runners are stuck in. All exposition but no actual narrative or coherent story, with dialogue and characters that are so heavy, dramatic and unnatural that demonstrates clearly the show isn't going anywhere but slowly circulating the drain of mysticism that they have tied themselves to and can't escape.
Overly melodramatic, dragging narrative and badly written dialogue, this show keeps delivering timidity for the ideas, screwed up early with promising some epic showdown between the mule and foundation, and dragging it out because the clone empire idea is not very interesting but they are stuck with it, instead of telling the story of psychohistory and the evolution of the foundation, so here we are... just sitting through pointless overhyped non-drama, the show could have been so much more.
