The acting was pretty damned good and the story line was original and entertaining, especially Abagail's quips which should had unnerved the kidnappers, but did NOT seem to sink into their minds. "Ilike to play with my food" was ingenuous but had little fright effect on the crew!
The humor was dark and subtle which I genuinely appreciated and enjoyed.
Now the bad side, a little girl vampire that can burst through an iron cage with one push, keeps getting dominated by mortal men! Every time she is in trouble or near being dispatched some events manages to give her another chance, while she could have killed them all instantly if the cage event was to be believed!
The ending is laughable with the actions of Father and Daughter Vampires acting EXTREMELY uncharacteristic for the undead.
The good half was enjoyable, and the bad half was groan indusing!

This film very quickly became a parody rather than a comedy. For once I have to say a good cast was wasted on a moronic storyline, it is usually the other way around.
The story itself might have been salvaged with a little less slapstick humor and a little more genuine comedy. The far over used bit about the nerdy kid in love with the jock's girlfriend is so stale that it resembles week old pizza crust!
And as usual the jock is a jerk, mistreats the girl and turns out to be a coward when the going gets rough.
All pretty standard teenager fare for a movie about teenagers.
This is akin to the "Scary Movie" parodies, but not as funny.

There are warning signs when a movie is going to be pretty bad. The biggest one is when the same people are the writers, directors, and producers. This is a sure fire sign that a bunch of bored rich people are about to make a movie for the fun of it and it is going to be a dud!
This one had the telltale signs, but it also had some pretty innovative story lines. One storyline pretty much followed the ancient legend of the Golem from Jewish tradition, but the others were pretty original and deserve credit for being good ideas.
Now, the crime of the situation is that they were played out by a pretty amateurish cast with the exception of the shopkeeper!
The ending was pretty standard and stale. The kind of thing you pretty much see coming from a mile away.
I did enjoy the tales woven into the overall plot, but I cringed every time the casting spoiled the moment!
