Violence shouldn't be a mainstream for all the animations. Seriously, if you want to say something about this animation, you better stop mentioning how important violence is for it. And we can clearly see that Rick and Morty is trying to reduce the frequency of bloody violence. For me, it's always glad to see teamwork of this family. The challenging creatures are bringing this family together and getting them closer.
Explorations are vital for any animation. For me, an animation becomes an animation, this is because of creativity the directors showing to audiences. Plus, meaning behind the plots is also really significant. The combinations of creativity and meaning can generate a good animation.

Rick and Morty is not about bloody plots. It's about bringing audiences the stories of these two characters. For example, how they interact with each other, how they face different challenges together. To me, it's not just a simple animation. It's educational at the same time.
It really doesn't matter if the episode's really funny. The directors of this animation are trying to tell people that aspirations not only come from the reality but also from something seems not close to our daily lives. It's a cliché to say Rick and Morty broaden our horizons and develop our creativity. In a brief, I would summarize this animation as fantasy of family challenges.
