Wow! I do not make it a habit of watching these adult comedy animations but for some reason I clicked on this not knowing the content but then after watching the first episode I could not stop watching. I am sure the generations that did not live in the 90s and early 2000 cannot relate that much. This show such an exaggeration of all the stereotypes, political not correct, and just plain wrong things that made up that period. It is gold to see such a show among so much of the junk out today. The Islamic content was crazy but I know there are families our there that follow all these visuals to a tea. If you have a think skin and enjoy uninhibited humor this show could fit that mold you. I don't think you can have a second season like this as the world has changed drastically since then. It would be nice of them to try. Great writing.
I appreciate the positive reviews this movie has gotten, but for me, G20 just wasn't that great. I really tried to watch it, but it kept pulling me out. The turning point for me came early on-when the president's daughter somehow sneaks out of the White House, past all that security, just to go party at a bar in Georgetown. Seriously? Then when she comes home, she gets lightly scolded and yells, "I hate you!" to the president-her mom-and slams the door in her face. I'm not shocked by a Black woman president at all, that's not the issue. But this dynamic just didn't feel realistic. Comedy shows have joked about this kind of scene forever, and we all know that in real life, that would not fly.
Then later, when the president suddenly turns into an action hero, it just got ridiculous. I know movies are make-believe, but there still has to be some grounding in reality for the stakes to feel real. The story felt rushed and lacked depth, which is a shame because the actors were high-caliber and deserved better. It felt like another movie made to turn a quick profit rather than tell a believable or meaningful story. The writing and direction needed more work to bring balance to the fiction and the reality they were trying to portray.

OMG!!! I cannot say what others have graciously uttered. I am not a Treki but and I tried so hard to want this movie. At first I did not even know there was a new Star Trek movie so I was a bit excited. But after trying to make sense of it I just could not pretend. The only thing that bridges the Star Trek vibe is the initial logo type and the Star Trek symbol in the opening credits. I do not know if it is the writers or the director but they just did not miss the boa- they missed the cruise ship. Maybe the idea was to introduce a new type of scifi movie to the newer generation. Similar to what Disney is trying hard with Star Wars. But for those who went past my 25 min mark I can at least say the dialog was dry. There was no creativity in the camera angles and it was just plain boring and slow. For those who are form the newer generation team just enjoy another scifi movie.
