If you liked True Detective, you'll enjoy this show. The eerie atmosphere and mood throughout the entire series has you watching on the edge of your seat, every muscle in your body tells you to look away from the horror on the screen and yet you can't seem to avert your eyes for even a second. Unlike the other review, I see no absence in plot or character development, I think it was written and directed with excellence. I am writing this review mostly out of defense for the show, its definitely not to everyone's taste, but overall it is absolutely a good watch and totally worth your time. However, I should add I am yet to watch the second season, so I have no idea if they have managed to keep up the good wrok, all of my comments here are only regarding season 1.

If you liked the series, true detective, you would like this show. It gives off very similar atmosphere and even the way it was tied off near the end was very similar. The eerie mood of the entire series has you on the edge of your seat for the whole watch, every muscle in your body tells you to turn away from the horror on the screen, and yet you are unable to avert your eyes for even a second. For me its a solid 8, unlike the other review, I think there was plenty of character and plot development. I wrote this review mostly out of defense for the bad reviews and ratings. Yes, you absolutely need to have a specific taste to be into this show, but it's definitely not a bad watch, and totally worth your time.
