This is such a shame.
Guess what? Yup the white guys did it. Only twelve minutes in and we know. It's not fair to the actors. It's not fair to the audience.
There are some great performances here. Peter Capaldi as DCI Daniel Hegarty is as always convincing as being darkly sinister.
Cush Jumbo as DS June Lenker is good but never is given a chance to let us see any real depth of character. I'd love to see given full rein to act as an angry cop without race having anything to do with it. She is so much more than the colour of her skin.
Zoë Wanamaker as Maureen Lenker wasn't terrific.
Charlie Creed-Miles as DS Tony Gilfoyle was OK but the whole show is a comment on the murder of Stephen Lawrence. There are outlets for that.
Can we get back to making great TV and telling great stories without "the message" they are becoming an unfair obstacle to some really terrific talent.

Mathematical probability will tell you that either 1/10 or 10/10 scores are statistically unlikely. Therefore it's pretty clear to me that this terrific movie is being bombed by some group somewhere that doesn't like it.
Where is Jonathan's credit for the voice of Jafar?
Fortunately if you copy paste the review and the reviewers username then ChatGPT is amazing at revealing false reviewers (give it a try!). The film was made in 1993. No internet. My three boys adored it even if it did end up with me knowing the words "Prince Ali, fabulous he. Etc"
Of course the animation is poor by today's standards. We were lucky to have NTSC back then. But it's fun and my grand kids love it.
