It's been a few years since I've gotten around to this, but I've submitted my nominees for the 2025 selections. I had been planning to do this earlier this year, but once the August deadline passed, I decided to wait and see what was chosen in December. The only film I had been planning to nominate that was included in the 2024 selections was Angels with Dirty Faces (1938), which I've replaced with The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946); I also gave serious consideration to The Miracle Worker (1962) and The Pride of the Yankees (1942), which were selected as well. I tried for a broad range of titles across the decades from various genres and subjects, including some actors who have been neglected up to now. I also tried to keep in mind one of the Registry's goals, including depictions of various aspects of American life, with regional variations and subcultures.

Movies to watch if you want to figure me out... I won't argue that I think this is a ranking of the all-time best movies, or even that they're necessarily my favorites, though that comes closer; if anything, I suppose you could say these are the movies that I most enjoy, and that I feel some connection to their sensibility. After multiple viewings, they still make me laugh, make my cry, make me think, and thrill me in a variety of ways.
