iLoveSorkin's rating
It's an 8.5, the extra half of a star because of it's uniqueness.
On paper, this film is another typical found footage horror. Standard things like some humor, slow-- then fast camera movements, and some pretty creepy antagonists. Then, you add the charm that M. Night added; Over-the-top acting, great story, and a phenomenal twist.
One thing that may influence my opinion a bit is that I've always loved found footage films, from The Blair Witch Project to The Visit, found footage horrors and thrillers are specifically cool to me. Something about there being no score, the variety of cool shots you can get, and the style really connects with me.
Even if you don't like found footage, this is worth the watch!

I discovered this show when I got a text from of a very good friend of mine, Carl, to look up on YouTube; "Civil War on Drugs".
I sat through the entire thing and could not stop laughing. The entirety of it was something of comedic genius. After watching, I looked up who these guys were. I found out that "Civil War on Drugs" was just part of the run of an incredible show called "The Whitest Kids U' Know"
...I binged the show on YouTube (or what was available on YouTube) over the course of two weeks. Afterwards, I was left only to my thoughts and my giggles. The show was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
Rest In Peace, Trevor Moore.
