I usually enjoy musicals and was intrigued to watch Wicked, although I worried at first it might be too childish. What stood out to me was the unevenness of the cast: while some actors were fantastic, others fell short. Ariana Grande was outstanding, bringing effortless grace to every scene, while Jonathan Bailey was both charming and funny. Jeff Goldblum was, as always, flawless. Unfortunately, Cynthia Erivo's performance felt forced-it was hard not to notice she was acting rather than truly inhabiting her role. Michelle Yeoh was decent but lacked the passion and the charisma, and Bowen Yang's character, though intended to be funny, mostly came across as irritating. Despite these flaws, I recommend Wicked if you appreciate vibrant visuals, catchy music, and fairytale stories.
It was exactly what I was looking for. A decent action comedy suitable for all the family. No inappropriate scenes, no racism, no DEI, just talented actors delivering great performances. Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan were fantastic, and their baby, Max, stole the show with the funniest moments. The script is refreshingly simple yet effective, making it easy to follow from start to finish. It doesn't try to overcomplicate things but instead delivers exactly what you'd expect from a quality action-comedy-fast-paced sequences, witty dialogue, and a feel-good vibe that keeps you entertained throughout. And finally, The Family Plan 2 is already in the making.
I got addicted to it since S1E1. You probably read a lot of positive comments and I agree with many of them. But let me here focus on the negative side of The Boys:
1- Too much anti-American, as if the US is a big lie.
2- Too much anti-christian, and promoting atheism.
3- Disgusting violence towards the human body. I am just worried about the sanity of young adults who watches this series.
But, despise all this, I am old enough to differentiate right from wrong and so I continue watching. In fact, I became a fan of Homelander, and I want him to win. On the contrary, I started hating Starlight in Season 4.
Regarding other characters, Butcher is exceptional, while Kimiko is a pain in the neck.
