It's very hard to find a comedy show with a powerful message like Mo. The show discusses the challenges of immigrants in America, and of being a Palestinian. It also discusses topics such as statehood, and touches on apartheid, cultural appropriation, illegal settlements, and the brutality of the Israeli occupation. It touches on the culture and religion which might contradicts some stereotypes. What makes it more fascinating that it's based on Mo's own story. It makes you smile and cry. Very heartfelt and I highly recommend it. What a masterpiece! Everyone should watch it, especially those who have issue with immigration.
I was surprised by how good is this movie. The main actor Khaled Abul Naga did a great job in this movie without saying much. His performance was superb in delivering the emotions. The movie depicts the struggles of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, the cruelty of the Israeli occupation and detention, and the overall control they have over Palestinian daily movements and basic life necessities such as water. The story is good and there are multiple twists. The kids actors were great too. The movie shed a light on life under Israeli occupation which many in the western countries may not know much about it.
