Ke Huy Quan was a good fit for the male lead in this movie. Like so many other reviews noted, his background in stunts really do come out in the action sequences. Ariana DeBose' character is the right energy and temperament for the female counterpart, but the age difference between the two (21 years in real life) just stood out for me.

The supporting characters were a mixed and somewhat eclectic group to fill in the various scenes. A few of them intermixed in some of the scenes causing tense dynamic that I think missed out on an opportunity to go beyond a flat experience. Assassins showing up at an open house where a couple is ready to buy is a major point in the film that seemed to miss out being a climax, and left me asking why a couple things happened the way they did while leaving me wondering what happened to some others.

The story-line seemed to abruptly jump a few scenes where there could have been something, like answering some of those questions I had about the open house. Be prepared for a lot of F-words, and other profanity. A few properly placed 'colorful metaphors' can convey the sentiment of the character, but a lot is not always better.

This movie could have been 'better' than it came out. It was still OK, better than a lot of stuff out there to spend your time on, and probably worth at least one watch. I don't think I'll see it again.

I hope Ke Huy Quan gets the opportunity to do another movie in this genre that has a tighter script and better director/producer direction and vision. I wonder how he would do with something in the lines of "The One" or even "Tuxedo".

This is about the quality and audio-visual experience of the 2023 4K UHD Dolby Vision & HDR10 remaster of this 1997 movie... no need to rehash the story.

I doubt that any theater looked anywhere close to how wonderful as this 4K disc. I could not see or hear any artifacts of an analog source, but has not made a digitally flat image from noise reduction. The Dolby Atmos & TrueHD 7.1 soundtrack is clear and sonic (where it needs to be). The voice is forward with mostly stereo imagery using surround for environmental noise and sound effects.

If you like the movie, this 4K version needs to be in your collection! Make sure you look for the Dolby Vision & HDR10 Steelbook release from March 2023, not the November 2018 plastic case that is only HDR10.

As sequels typically go, Twisters is not as "good" as Twister. Like the first, this is campy, corny and at times over the top. But, it is entertaining. The character acting between in Twister is more engaging than in Twisters, with more emotional depth. I didn't become as emotionally invested with the Kate, Javi and Tyler characters as I did with Jo, Bill, Dusty and the others. So many memorable quotes and moments from it, yet I am struggling for one to pull from Twisters.

Parker's Kate character does a pretty good job of portraying a person who has emotionally withdrawn after the opening disaster, and then opening back up during the unfolding events. Powell's Tyler character is by design initially obnoxious and detestably over-the-top. Tyler is intrigued by and attracted (or drawn) to Kate, and becomes more personable as they develop a rapport. The Tyler persona shift seems to take a rapid turn as he helps Kate re-engage with the tornado research she had abandoned, and it can seem a bit abrupt... possibly from movie editing.

Yes, the movie has some awesome cinematography and special effects with a full surround track complete with low bass is strategically placed points. Cameo(s) and slight references to the original Twister are nice (i.e. - Dorothy V & James Paxton). Post-Production seems like it was rushed, leaving editing errors and inconsistencies that one my notice especially upon re-watching. Things like vehicle damage that comes and goes, CB radios that work without an antenna attached, and a main vehicle that is destroyed in one scene only to show up undamaged in the next.

This is an OK movie worth watching, once or twice.
