This story is fascinating and we in Japan love it also. The portrayal of Rama is at its best. Anime quality is top class, Rama's long black hair moves beautifully. Secondly the dialogue and songs are so prideful to us all. I also like the fight scenes. Would recommend anyone to watch this movie. Thank you to our Japanese director for bringing this together and showing appreciation to this Indian epic and it culture. Very few adaptations of Ramayana makke a mark as there is o many. This i one of the few. Adipurush recently done very badly. I also saw a short film at Raindance film festival called Monkey enters Lanka which was nice for arthouse, and Rajoumouli's RRR was great. But nothing can beat this one.
Cannot understand the negative reviewers. Seems from the comment most are Indians offended by Sita being played by non-Indian actress but why?
We have Ramayana too. The famous Ramayana animation is also from Japan, directed by Yugo Sako. We love Ramayana and monkey magic in Japan, we have a deity like Hanuman in our culture. Please Indian friends, be open minded to adaptation.
My opinion on this movie: thank you for making it and casting diverse cast so it is reachable. Music is nice and specially thank you for Japanese subtitles. I watched in Raindance film festival and was moved by Hanuman story. As a big Sin city fan, but thank you for trying this stylistic choice.

No one else but Robert Rodgriguez could have the guts and passion to try and shoot this and give us the complete picture. A true adaption of frank miller comic and gave us a style of movie that will be a new trend of cinema for a lifetime. Many films have tried but failed to re-create this neo-noire style.
I really hope rodiriguez sir continue to make more movie in new and different style!
Big shock that did not win enough awards. Hope one day more Japanese movie can take on this super stylistic choice and cross the boundary into new cinema.
I especially like the acting of rourke and miho, deadly little miho.
