The emergency was fine, nothing crazy but ok ig. Chimneys speech at the end was powerful and his reconciliation with Athena was nice. THAT being said, what a waste. ABC please fire your show runners and writers or at least scare them into writing better. You had the PERFECT set up for a great finale with 8x17, you did an insane press tour, and truly had the perfect setup for a great last episode. Instead you gave us nothing, that was so lame I can't even put it into words. You are taking these characters a certain way and then completely 180ing them. Does no one communicate about where each of the character arcs are going?? I mean you really messed up buck and eddies start for season 9 after such a perfect set up in the previous episode, what about the empty casket from 8x16, and most importantly BRING BACK PETER KRAUSE. I love this show but I cannot stress this enough, get your stuff together and write the way the show should be written!!

Step 1. Fire Tim Minear Step 2. Fire any other writers that wrote the past few episodes Step 3. Bring back Peter (this one is crucial) Step 4. Actually progress your characters plot lines and don't keep developing character relationships off screen Step 5. Listen to your fans and get rid of the characters they hate + give them the plot lines they want (normally I wouldn't recommend this but your show is in the toilet and your fans are mad so I would recommend making them happy idk) Step 6. Bring back Peter Step 7. Give Eddie more character development Step 8. Bring back Peter and fire Tim minear

Overall I love this show. Kenneth and Angela dropped some Emmy worthy performances this episode and everyone did the best with what they had. But this show is going into the trash if they keep this up and I think the only way for this to change is to shake up who's running this show and the writers, because they are losing touch with the characters and what made the show so great in the first place.
