I love how this film portrayed kindness and human connection in life, yet, somehow i find the film boring and emotionally distant, not sure why, as it unfolded- probably its an implied feeling of protagonist's loneliness channeled to the viewers or something else.
The protagonist's Chihiro is a former sex worker now works at a bento shop in a rural neighboorhood in Japan. As she sort out a new life for her, an encounter with people and their circumstances build up her daily life - her ex-boss, a homeless old man on the street, a high school girl, Makoto the kid, and the hospitalized wife of the bento owner who turned blind.
