  • Consistently clever and fun

3 seasons and it's still delivering a smart and entertaining story and characters. If you're a fan of fun fast-paced but clever crime shows this is the one. Think of a Man from Uncle or Ocean's 11. With heists and disguises, the show keeps a light hearted tone, yet this is also balanced by the personal heavier stories of the characters.

It feels familiar yet new , and I can't wait for another season. Omar has a charismatic portrayal of Lupin entices you into this layered story of a thief and keeps you cheering for him through all of it, even when it at times seems a little further from reality.

But that is exactly the strength of this show, it takes it self seriously while also allowing for some creative and fantastical moments, leading to a wonderfully clever and fun show.

  • Humanity sabotaged at every step

I've previously seen a few of Jimmy's videos on Youtube, and although they were not my style I could appreciate the happiness he brought people by gifting them what they needed. Granted, the last episode hasn't been aired yet, but the last 9 episodes have been absolutely terrifying.

Rather than show feats of strength and perseverance, or kindness and loyalty, this show is all about manipulating and hurting people. They bring everyone up to their breaking point making even the more honest players into animals.

Meanwhile Jimmy stands besides them and grins...

It's like Squid Games and Hunger Games, but rather than criticising the societal system of exploitation, it frames it as entertainment and encourages joy out of watching people scramble for money, betraying any values or humanity that they wanted to uphold.

  • For lovers of puzzles & murders

A friend thought I'd be immediately hooked by Ludwig based on my love for Death in Paradise, and boy were they right!

It's a great combination of complicated puzzles, quirky characters and an intriguing side storyline. David Mitchell as Ludwig brings the perfect amount of awkward humour to the bizarre murders and story lines and while each of his colleagues can only be briefly introduced in this short 6 part series, I've immediately been enamoured by each and every one of them!

There has been a great variety of cases and settings, some reminiscent of a more wacky Jonathan Creek case while others more in the style of Morse. I've really enjoyed the creativity in these cases and how beloved puzzles have been used to solve them. Contrary to some critique I've read here, I found the road to the solutions not hard to follow, and actually that the complicated nature of them actually made me more interested! It was so much fun to try and guess crazy ways these impossible murders could have been committed! We had times where we suggested everything ranging from a fake door and elaborate contraptions to the old switcheroo or an asassin.

Patiently waiting for a second season now!
