The Western they say is a dying breed, however, if they continue to make ones such as the "Foresaken", i feel sure that many people who are not particulary enamoured with the genre, would certainly change their viewpoint.
My wife who is 88( I am 83) does not normally watch Westerns and i have to watch them on my own. This particular film, however, she said she would start to watch as the story appeared to be good. Well, she was engrossed from start to finish saying it was great acting, photography, story line and supporting music. She said it was the best role that Keiffer Sutherland has ever portrayed and liked the cameo from Demi Moore, an actress that she did not like apart from "Ghost" with Patrick Swaze.
I think the Western is the best genre of film, provided that it is made with the intention of being remembered. Unfortunately these films do not come around very often. There are too may low grade "B" movies made.
"Foresaken" has to be in my Top 10 Westerns that i have ever seen and endorse my wife's viewpoint of this film wholeheartedly.
Please see it if you have the chance, you will not regret it.

I have seen many good to excellent TV Dramas such as Ozark,Yellowstone,Deadwood but in my opinion this period drama about gangsters set in the American Prohibition era is undoutebly the most brilliant one of them all. The attention to detail of the era, the cinematography and the acting were beyond reproach with an excellent musical score.
I and my wife(we are in our 80's)have just finished watching it for a second time since 2014 and if anything have enjoyed it even more and we are people who enjoy dramas such 84 Charing Cross Road.
Yes, we must point out that there is a lot of graphic violence and very explicit sex scenes so certain people might find it most disdainful but they fit the storyline like a glove.
I cannot recommend it more highly, so if you have not seen it, do so.

It may have been made in 1981 but the story is so real and the acting quite brilliant. Yes, the storyline is simple but it is brilliantly told with superb music to go with it.
It knocks spots off much of todays dramas. My wife said that it did not need graphic sex or bad language to get its very real life issues in one's face and only wish that more of this type drama was made.
For Anna Blake with such a deadpan face to get one totally engaged with her character, took a superb piece of acting while the rest of the cast also excelled.
How anyone could call this series boring is beyond me. It is a must see for anyone who appreciates good movie making. SEE IT.
