I rarely watch a series twice but couln't resist watching it once again. Can't wait to see the second season appear.
The series is a piece of art in my opinion. Apart from the very sexy and great as well as partially famous characters, the storyline is quite profound. There's so much love to the detail from skillful lighting to framing of the scenes with artistic positioning of the characters, props and playing with the focus of the camera up to matching music. Great scenery and lovely integration of the local nature of the Camargue. Maybe not everyone appreaciates all these details but it's outstanding from many other series in my opinion.
I also loved small appearances such as Amanda Lear in one scene as well as a transgender actor in another scene (don't want to spoil too much by adding the name at this point). They even managed to hint towards what's happening by the lighting, focus and dialogue before the scene revealed what's going on. It's nice and so important in current times to not just let someone play a transgender person but they also casted some beautiful actor who represents a whole community even if it only was for one small scene.
