  • Ironheart

A miniseries that divides critics considerably. It has poor execution and lacks solid relevance. The lack of better execution is noticeable.

"Ironheart" is one of the old proposals from Marvel Studios that hadn't seen the light due to various delays and a disorder within the phases of this universe, arriving in 2025 when its products are debatable according to their premise. In this case, the miniseries doesn't have anything that impacts like some past installments, even going so far as to release its 6 episodes quickly, which is debatable, don't you think?

The consistency, firmness, essence, credibility, and narrative support within this production are unfortunately very mediocre. "Ironheart" doesn't bring anything interesting; in fact, it's a step back for the character, and I emphasize what we could see in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever." It's incredible how a character with so little screen time can be ruined by poor execution.

It is a miniseries that lacks logical foundation and its script does not possess it. The conventions, continuity errors (in scenes), plot holes, lack of credibility, meager narrative arguments, and cinematic aspects leave much to be desired. They are very evident and considerably detract from the viewers' experience.

The character of Riri Williams, portrayed by Dominique Thorne, is very debatable. Her objectives, approaches, ideals, executions, decision-making, and what she conveys are terrible; on the other hand, the actress's performance is another matter. I think she does well, but it lacked more depth.

The miniseries tries to be dramatic, funny, intriguing, energetic, but it doesn't achieve that goal. It has quite mediocre characters, many of whom are wasted, like The Hood. If you think carefully about their objectives, it's a terrible idea, with nothing that can stand out in a production that deserves attention for these characters.

Everything seen on screen in these 6 episodes is an absolute setback for Marvel in reference to Ironheart. In addition to that, we have the addition of a highly anticipated character from "WandaVision," and here he comes and goes without a trace; I emphasize that he appears in a mediocre miniseries. Even so, the actor Sacha Baron Cohen does an excellent job, I think he is the most notable part despite having so little screen time.

Interesting details from the comics are adopted, and I think that's fine, but they are not well executed. If we talk about N. A. T. A. L. I. E., there's a lot to discuss, especially regarding her performance within the story and that physical characteristic she gets here. The actress Lyric Ross is very forced by that comedic style.

Without a doubt, "Ironheart" did not meet expectations. It wants to include a multitude of references within the MCU, but they lack substance, being very flat and full of nonsense. Could it have been better? Totally.

  • The World Ends with You: The Animation (Subarashiki Kono Sekai the Animation)

A video game adaptation that maintains its visual essence but lacks depth in its script, feeling rushed and forced at many moments.

"The World Ends with You: The Animation" is a super short and fast-paced anime that presents a group of young people fighting for survival and seeking alternatives to win a game, which can be entertaining for those who have played this video game, and for another segment of consumers quite simple. "The Animation" is a super short and quick anime to watch that presents a group of young people fighting for survival and seeking alternatives to win a game, which can be entertaining for those who have played this video game, and for another sector of consumers quite simple. From a neutral standpoint, the adaptation is decent, coherent, but not remarkable; it can even be mentioned that it has gone unnoticed by a large part of the anime community.

In this sense, it can be a proposal that has its standout points within some episodes; for example, the first one is convincing and, despite the little information it conveys, it is entertaining. However, as the episodes progress, it loses much of its strength and interest begins to wane, whether due to the plot, the characters, or even the anime itself. All of this stems from the lack of sustainable narrative arguments, a more solid context, the lack of information, character development, or moments that have a memorable impact. Without these elements, this adaptation does not stand out as it should. It is clear that it is not entirely bad; it just needed better execution.

On the other hand, everything related to the animation is fine, at least in its first episodes, it is striking for its particularity of maintaining the essence of the game and an energetic style with the strong colors, but then it becomes very simple and lacks fluidity, adding very mediocre action sequences that have no relevance whatsoever. Scottish I think it's an anime that starts off decent and then goes downhill.

The protagonist is not the best, at least not in this adaptation. He doesn't have a solid goal, he doesn't convey anything, and he's just another one in the crowd. From my perspective, the character with the best moments on screen, the best dialogues, and development is Shiki Misaki, who at times conveys that reflection on friendship and the search for solutions to problems.

"The World Ends with You: The Animation" undoubtedly could have been better and offered some surprises, but its execution was not adequate and it quickly becomes forgettable. It's a shame because it does have the potential to deliver good adventures. It should be noted that this works more as a promotion for the video game's sequel than as an exploration of what has been developed here.

  • Heads of State

An energetic movie that doesn't take itself seriously, being conventional, predictable, but entertaining due to the mix of action and comedy.

"Heads of State" is a film that aims to entertain the audience and employs the star-studded cast as an attractive method, not impacting or altering the action genre, but providing laughs and fun moments through that small creative proposal. It's a movie that passes without a trace, even being forgettable in no time, yet it has its merit from the entertainment perspective for Amazon's platform catalog.

It's a film that doesn't try to be credible, but it relies on a wide variety of references to the world of cinema and pop culture, which can be appealing to many viewers. However, it lacks depth in its script, in the characters, and their development; no importance is given to any of them, also due to the very criticism the film tries to portray.

The action sequences have their decent moments, but the vast majority are mediocre or of little relevance due to the lack of good sustainable execution. Credibility does not exist in this movie; its comedic tone encompasses the entire essence of its story. At that point, our protagonists carry the story with their chemistry and good performance.

Idris Elba and John Cena are a fun duo because of those characteristics in their characters, being opposites and contradicting their ideals at every turn. However, as the scenes progress, you can see their improvement together, and without realizing it, the film conveys a reflective message behind all that comedy and action. We also have Priyanka Chopra Jonas in a supporting role, serving as a connection for the protagonists.

The cinematic aspects here can be debatable, perhaps due to the film's theme, but a few of them can stand out. I think there are more negative points than anything else, for example, the special effects leave much to be desired. The movie doesn't escape conventional moments, continuity errors, plot holes, and sustainable arguments. However, it doesn't aim to be credible at any moment; it just wants to provide entertainment and be a popcorn flick.

From my perspective, the one who steals the show in the best scene, for his creativity, simplicity, and impact, is the actor Jack Quaid. What he conveys, his aura, and charisma for the essence of comedy are more than evident.

The film offers a satirical constructive critique of political ideals, betrayals, and all the power that encompasses that environment. On the other hand, it offers reflections on teamwork, trust, personal ideals, changing perspectives, acceptance, and support.

    5.5/10.
