  • Godard makes sense of it all.

I am not sure if this amazing film has only just got into the Art Cinema Circuit here. Seeing it some 36hrs after the London Bombings was to experience something quite extraordinary and to confirm JLG as a filmmaker of unique relevance. If you haven't seen it-Get out there NOW.You will be probably appreciate it more if you haven't read any other reviews!JLG chooses a rather complex framework for this study of violence and the Human Condition.Indeed his own appearance within the film as JLG-auteur,could distract from the hugely powerful simplicity of any one of several interlocking "stories",in the end however my companion and I felt that this was the pinnacle of our 25years of film-going.Cheers and be excellent to .......!

  • It may take two to Tango but dont trust anyone.Great Movie.

A wonderful film that must rank with all the great Con/Sting depictions in Cinema History. There is also the powerful subtext showing some of the economic problems that were to engulf the country in 2002.The storyline will keep you so engrossed that when the end comes.........WOW !! The acting is fine within the constraints of a very powerful script and the settings have a freshness that is quite delightful. A must see particularly for those who like to analyse what really went on!

  • Being an auteur doesent suit Malkovitch.

Tedium taken to a level too boring to describe. Scenes go on and on ...... The actors look very uneasy at least I think they do as most of the time the light is very bad or the Director has set afocus on something removed from the characters.John Malkovitch is wasted and Piccoli seems bemused by the lack of any coherent storyline. An experience for insomniacs only.

  • never let a marmot share your bathtub

a magical farago of comical mishaps.perhaps one of the best pieces of sustained anarchy ever.the scene involving The Dude&the cricket bat wielding enforcers as they throw the marmot on him as he lies soaking is surely one of the alltime clasics. A must-see if you you like your humour raw.
