Cant say that I was convinced. The story structure was probably the best aspect with the movie but the main character and her foil could have been more extraordinary. Ingrid Bergmans performance turns out to not be engaging and you cant really envy her characters choices.
Hitchcock got some good Salvador Dali moments but nothing truly special this time.

I like movies that have some underlying meaning more complex than just a simple message. Horrors often tend to overstate the horror parts of the movies and seldom focus on the actual story and the characters.
I really like A24 and I have felt like their movies often have important messages, but this felt quite the opposite.
The scary part of this movie is clearly the feeling of unpredictability, you don't know what will happen or what that dumpster eater will do. Sticking a knife in your moth is more of a "I dont want to se this nasty shit" moment more than it is scary.
If I where to pick anything good with the storyline would it also be its unpredictability. Its never that you really question any choices and when you at least thought "now that b*tch gonna be caught red handed" the story takes another turn.

Not to be harsh but the movie moved at a incredibly slow paste.
The animation is incredible, and I am not fairly sure how they did these shots, Looked real but some of the things had to be made with cg?
The story is ok, and have some of its best/most reliable parts in the middle of the movie when you truly feel those emotions threw the pixels. The fact that you relate to a shell with playdo shoes and with a super annoying female (want to be male) voice is pretty incredible and extremely well done.
Otherwise is the story super slow and the plot points are weak (looses engagement)
