I just finished watching this and I genuienly think it is one of the best shows I have seen in a while.
Nobody Wants this tells the story of two young adults from completely different backgrounds who fall in love and go through all the motions. Whilst this sounds super stereotypical romance (and it is), this show is genuinely so entertaining and cute that it doesn't matter.
One thing I really appreciated about this show is the Jewish representation. I come from a country with a very small Jewish population so it was super interesting to learn a lot more about their history and culture. I also think the dynamic of making Noah a rabbi was very well executed; the pressure they show him feeling both from his family and religious congregants, and also just how important his faith was to him. In many shows they often make the religious person abandon their faith and values for their partner, so it was pretty cool to see Noah still being Jewish and keeping true to himself, and even trying to share this with Joanne rather than shutting that part of himself off.
I also absolutely loved the dynamic of Joanne and Morgan and thought the actresses worked great together as a dynamic duo; they were so sweet and so funny and really played the role of dysfunctional family well. At times I struggled with the rest of Joanne's family and thought that dynamic felt super cringe, but I guess that's the point of the show and it was still overall very entertaining.
The combo of Joanne and the rabbi, chaotic and calm, religious and absolutely insanely secular was EVERYTHING.
This show was so good and so entertaining, and despite all its messiness, it was just so silly and lighthearted and made you feel so good.
Also, I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope they make a season two, because the cliffhanger ending really gave me anxiety...

I watched this with my mum who is going through slimming world at the moment and we both agreed that it is so relatable. The show markets itself as a comedy about a group of people going through a weight loss group.
The one thing I liked about the show the most is that it really feels like an ensemble piece; each main character gets their own episode so we were really able to see the personal issues they were all facing. No character felt like they were 'more important' than the others. Not only this, but in these episodes we were able to see how they struggled not only with weight but also with other things. We saw issues with relationships, religion, financial stress as well as a variety of eating disorders too.
The show did well at humanising all of the characters and not making them seem like greedy monsters which a lot of other shows about fat people seem to do. Furthermore, the show managed to exaggerate things and add comedic value in all the right places and overall, it's just a really great dramatic comedy that hits all the right places.
