  • Simply phenomenal! Better that 99% of any movie or TV series I have ever seen

This miniseries is epically profound! Ostensibly about immigrants to, and from, Argentina (which makes this move a must-see for anyone interested in, or planning to visit, Argentina), but in fact it is one of the most insightful looks into the drama of the human condition.

I am 60 years old, and lived an adventurous life. It takes a lot to impress me... yet this series affected me profoundly! I can honestly say that watching this series was far more productive and meaningful than months of therapy. It quite literally changed my life! This is a very unknown series because it was aired on Public TV (Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales), and they kept changing the times and put it on at very odd times, and never reran it. Even in Argentina is is barely known of.

Juan Campanella is best known (internationally) for directing "El secreto de sus ojos" (2009), for which he won Best Foreign Film. It was a brilliant film, but this, IMHO, surpasses that movie! Especially in light of the fact that Campanella was also the creator and writer (p.s. other directed and wrote some episodes as well, so credit to them)

  • Are we cheering for the bad guys?

So, the corporate oligarchy has finally achieved global domination, and their totalitarian fascist NWO state is maintained by the oppressions of the the 'protectors', the future equivalent of the LAPD... and the one group who is fighting to restore human rights and liberty.. are the BAD GUYS? WTF!? Am I supposed to be cheering for this mind controlled (literally, with implanted hardware) killing machine of a detective who has orders to destroy perhaps our last hope for the future!? Come on! That would be like rooting for the Terminator to kill Sarah Connor.

Sadly, this is a yet another shoot'em up cop show, but with a totally FUped plot line and really bad set continuity. i mean.. it's freaking 2077, the cop has biointegrated google-glasses-on-steroids-contacts zapped into her eyes in 2 seconds.. but the 'bad guy' engineer is wearing a pair of glasses from 1968... but, it is good to know that all forms of data transmission and encryption don't change one iota in 60 years.

Sorry.. this show has so many holes it in it is one step away from a sitcom. But what really did it for me was the sappy sentimental music as the end of episode 2 with images of borg-nazi-mom and her non-existent child (he won't be born for 50 more years) attempting to invoke some sort of emotion in me. Which it did. i wanted to see her die and end the season right then and there.

I give this a 2 rather than a 1 simply out or respect for all the actual work that went into making this spice of proganda-for-morons.
