Tom Cruise in Collateral (2004)

Collateral

  • Best Movie I've seen this year so far

I went into this movie on opening day not knowing how it would turn out. I had read the good reviews Collateral was getting but good reviews don't necessarily mean that the movie will be good. However, I had to agree with the critics because this was one of the best movies of the year if not the best this year as of August 2004.

Having said that, the movie itself is about Tom Cruise as a hitman who has to kill several people during the night and in order to do that, he gets into a taxi cab drven by Jamie Fox, who at the beginning doesn't know what Cruise does but goes along after being given money for compensation. After the first stop, Fox "finds" out what Cruise does and wants to get away from him, but Fox is forced to drive Cruise all around Los Angeles but eventually gets enough confidence to turn on him only to figure out that Cruise's last victim on the list is the woman named Annie, played by Jada Pinkett Smith, Fox dropped off before he picked up Cruise. Fox has to find away to stop Cruise and rescue Jada before Cruise completes his job.

Well acted movie that is edgy and very dark. I'm not a big fan of Cruise but he was great as the villian, while Fox did a great job as being the cab driver who was in way over his head while driving Cruise around. The direction from Micheal Mann is also excellent. 4 out of 4 stars.

  • a little too long of a movie but still fun to watch

bad boys 2 is an action packed, laughable movie thats fun to watch but was made a little to long. bad boys 2 is about will smith and martin lawrence, who work in the miami police department, trying to stop a shipment of drugs to reach the nightclubs in the united states and catch the person who is trying to sell the drugs. pretty basic action movie formula. it's not taking over the world, then it's about drugs! anyways, that's pretty much the movie but there were some scenes in the movie that were a kind of a waste. but that's my opinion. a little too long, about 2 1/2 hours of explosions everywhere, but still pretty entertaining moive with a lot of funny jokes between lawrence and smith.

    3 out of 4 stars

  • i started to fall asleep....

nemesis.....another failed startrek movie that did have potential to become a good movie. the script was weak and it was really boring. i see movies all the time, and i like majority of the ones i see. but when a movie starts to put you to sleep in the first 30 minutes, then the movie is going to be very boring.....

  • a funny show

city guys is like an updated version of saved by the bell. its about 6 people who go through highschool and deals with problems highschool students go through such as drugs, sex, etc.

the first 5 or so episodes featured a lot of jamal and chris and them getting into problems, however, the other cast members started havong their own episodes.

one of the funniest characters, named L-train, made recurring appearances and finally was made a regular during the 1st season.

the last episode, which was shown in 2001, showed all 6 students leaving and going on to college.
