  • Fun

Snack Attack is a short and no dialogue film. The film is about an old lady who buys sweets and then fights with a young man over them before getting on the train. There are two things I find wonderful about this film. The first is the sound effects and the movements that go with them. There is no dialogue in this film, but each movement is clear and easy to understand. Also, the sound effects that go with it are well used, and the sounds of eating sweets and flipping through newspapers are particularly easy to understand. The second is music. The use of appropriate music for each scene makes for a better production. The music is also changed well to match the scene transitions, making it easy to understand the development of the film. I recommend this film because throughout the film, you can enjoy each movement along with the sound effects and music, and at the end, you can chuckle at the funny side of the old lady.

  • Beautiful expression

Three Days in Kamakura is a film that is the story of three days when a boy comes to a couple and their hearts are touched. What I find most wonderful about this film is that I can feel Keiko and David's shifting feelings for the child through their words and acting. I know from one scene that no children will be born to them. So David tries to raise the boy themselves, but Keiko says that's a bad idea. Perhaps Keiko also wants a child, but she persuades David, and David is convinced by Keiko's thoughts and changes his mind. At this time, they usually speak in English, but it is impressive that Keiko says the most important part in Japanese. I believe this is a very effective method in conveying thoughts and feelings. Also, there is a lot of foreshadowing, each of which is an important scene, and it is very pleasant to watch as it is all recovered through the film. I recommend this film because we can feel the emotional transitions of the couple who are in a complicated state of mind due to various overlapping circumstances through their sensitive words and expressions.

  • Interesting

'Stanley Pickle' is a short stop-motion film. The film tells the story of a man living in a world where everything is mechanized, but when he meets a woman, his view of the world changes. There are two things I find interesting about this film. The first is the stop-motion filming technique. The performers are all real people, but the stop-motion filming creates the impression that they are all dolls. The second is a change in emotion. Although this is a film with no dialogue, the facial expressions and actions show that the man clearly changes his mind when he meets the woman. Also, I have a thought about this film. It is that my normal is not someone else's normal. In this movie, the man brings the bird back to life by altering it for the woman, but it's not for her. This is normal for the man, but not for the woman. And because this man is not normal for me as well, I feel I have to recognize that there are people like him out there. I recommend this film because it is possible to read the movement of emotions without dialogues, and it is really interesting.
