Three Days in Kamakura is a short film set in Kamakura, Japan. The main
characters are David and Keiko. They live in Kamakura and David works in
an English school for kids. They live happily and want to have kids.
However, they won't be able to have their own children for one reason. One day, a mother of a boy who attends David's English class does not pick him up. On the same day, the news of a train accident is announced. David is worried about the boy's mother when he hears about the train accident on the news, but gradually he begins to have an idea.
The film makes good use of the Kamakura setting and the story progresses in a very calm atmosphere. Also, the film does a good job of expressing the problems and emotions of couples who cannot have children. The film is so good at making viewers feel sympathy for the couple that you might think it is a documentary. Moreover, it also expresses how people from other countries feel about living in Japan. I really recommend this film to you.

Toyland is a great short film. The setting is in wartime Germany. The main
characters are a German boy, Heinrich, and his mother. Heinrich has a close
Jewish friend. However, Heinrich's mother tells him that his Jewish friend
is
going to "Toyland". Actually, this "Toyland" seems
to be a concentration camp. Because of the mother's lie, Heinrich
wants to go to Toyland with his Jewish friend. On the departure day of
his friend, mother notices that Heinrich is not in his house and has
probably followed
his Jewish friend. Mother tries to find Heinrich, but...
The entire color of this film is dark, so it gives us a sense of seriousness of the atmosphere at that time. It allows us to experience the real atmosphere and emotions of German and Jewish families at that time. It also tells us there were German people who had strong connections to Jewish people at that terrible wartime. If you have historical knowledge of the persecution of Jews you will feel strongly about the cruelty and message of this story. I really want you to watch this film.

Two Strangers Who Meet Five Times is a short film which has a strong
message. There are two main characters, Samir and Alistair. As the title
of this story shows, they meet five times in their lives. The story
somehow starts with the second MEET, when Samir is withdrawing money at
a cash point and Alistair comes in and insults Samir with racist remarks.
The third MEET is a final interview for Alistair, who is looking for a job, and.... I like this film very much. When it started with the second MEET I wondered why do they let us start watching the film from the second MEET scene? I couldn't help but wonder what their first MEET was like. And as the story progresses and we find out what the first MEET was like, I realize the message of the film. You will also realize it.
No one is born as a bad person, people can be good or bad, or racist, depending on their environment. That's why we have to treat people around us with great care, and keep doing "right things" because if you kept doing so, you can make the world better and also be surrounded by good people and you could be a great person. I really recommend this film to you. I like films which have a "twist in tale". But this film is especially unique in the way it tells the story, and you will be excited when you realize the meaning of its unique structure.
