I managed one episode before i had to switch it off. It was more about the dialogue than anything else. There were many reference about the female lead (being a lawyer) letting criminals out onto the streets. On one occasion her neighbour jokingly said, "better get back to letting all those criminals out onto the street", what?? I thought to myself, why would that be something funny to say.

It WOULD have been funny if the next scene didn't depict her doing just that. Why on earth would i watch a main character do this, and find her engaging. Put this together with the main lead Rupert Penry Jones, just skulking around like a slob with hardly any purpose, i decided this was set to be another one of those tosh series that wants to push a particular message. Well the off button was the only message it got from ME.

I just couldn't get into this bore fest. There were way too many long drawn out scenes of nothing. One scene lasted around 20 minutes of them just sitting in a car moaning at each other, and another scene going to an ALIEN convention at Christmas.(whah!!!!) The male lead was another one of those model type actors, where it's all just about the eye candy, zero acting ability, and the female lead just constantly grinned all the way through the movie like it was her only expression. I know Christmas movies don't always have the best talent, but this is way outside the barrel.

To top it off there was that overused silly tinkerbell music playing in the background, that is meant to give you comedy effect, but instead just annoys you. Both leads were acting away from each other, rather than towards each other, so it felt there was no love story or chemistry development. This is not one for a cosy night in, let alone a freezing night outside.

This movie was trying so hard to be like the movie, The Watcher in the woods from 1980. Ya know that masterpiece with Bette Davis, about a missing girl that haunts everyone in the woods, until they find out what happened to her. Well this was definitely not that. The pacing was so slow, the acting so drab, the characters so lame. It really was a drudge-fest, There is a whole scene that lasts for around 10 minutes, of someone standing and walking around a room picking up junk, i mean commmee onnnnn. If you are expecting horror, well forget it, there is nothing here for you, not even one of those cop out deaths, where they throw ketchup at a wall. I was hoping either a masked killer, or a haunted cabin would miraculously appear, but nope, just a plain dull awful movie.
