The first episode was okay. It was interesting enough to persuade me to want to see more, despite some annoying direction. The second episode was boring and pointless and it did little to further the story. Oh, and what's with all the annoying alarms. Why do directors try to annoy the audience?
After the second episode the following episodes just had a lot of stupid dream scenes and stupid scenarios that were never completed.
The storyline struck me as one written by a person who had no plan and no idea where they were going. "Let's just throw in a lot of innuendo about a monster and a mystery and add stupid elements to make is seem 'interesting and deep.'" It's like they made it up as they went and had no idea where they were going.
Well, a whole lot of stupid is what happens. As others have stated, there is no conclusion. After suffering through a lot of nonsense, the viewer is left hanging, left guessing what the whole thing was about. Just an incredible waste of time.
The only actor that was familiar to me was the one who played Derek, the owner of the bread factory. I like that actor, but would prefer he didn't take parts like this. I didn't know any of the others and they were all good in their parts. It's just too bad they had to play in such a dumb, pointless show.

This was one of my favorite British mysteries. Most of the characters were fun and likable. The acting was solid and the settings were good. My favorite character was DC Martin Kite, played by the extra-adorable and hunky Huw Rhys.
While the stories weren't all great - they were always enjoyable because of the relationship interactions between the main characters. Kite and Anorak in particular were funny.
I was so disappointed that it only ran for one season. Who are the dummies that canceled this gem? They probably still have their jobs whilst they threw these actors out of theirs. It could have and should have run for years. Great show. I miss it.
