  • It's not even worth watching the trailer

Parodies are very common in cinema, having been around since the first one came out in 1922 until today. Although reviews for this genre are generally negative, as they prioritize comedy over plot, the general public can enjoy these films. However, this is not the case here, as the absurd, sexual, vulgar, and childish comedy results in jokes that are not funny and a poorly written script, creating a tedious and uncomfortable experience for the viewer.

The film works as a kind of continuation of the famous trilogy The Hangover (2009), in which, once again at a bachelor party, they forget what they did the night before and have to find one of their friends. The difference is that in their drunken stupor, they signed up for the Hunger Games, which in this world are called the Hangover Games. They face off against other film genres and specific movies like superheroes, Avatar, and the Muppets. In the end, they realize that nothing really happened and they were just dreaming, taking their friend to the wedding and everything going as planned.

When a company or brand produces a feature film, they try to make everything go right, but unfortunately, in this film, everything that could have gone right goes wrong, with a thousand and one errors that make it a flat and soulless film. One of its main errors is the excessive nudity in the film. There are times when they interrupt dialogue just to show naked women, and it's even worse when you see that the subplot consists of one of the protagonists wanting to see the breasts of one of the competitors. I assume the excessive nudity was intended for comedy purposes, but it backfired completely, since not a single joke in the film is funny.

Aside from the film's terrible humor, the special effects are terrible because it's very noticeable when the background is superimposed in post-production, and when they need to create a 3D effect, it looks like poor-quality plastic, taking you out of the immersion of the film. The references were wasted, as they could have made for interesting confrontations, but by choosing to make absurd, sexual jokes, they lost any chance of getting the viewer even slightly interested in the film.

The characters are another flaw because they are completely flat; none of them learn or change, and because they lack depth, it's impossible for the viewer to empathize with the protagonists. As a result, the audience doesn't feel the slightest interest in knowing the story, since they don't care what happens to the characters or know what the point of following them is due to the aforementioned disconnect. The most unfortunate thing is that the film doesn't try to be good, as they thought comedy would save them, but as I suppose they realized, the tactic didn't work, given that it's a film with less than 2 stars on average.

In conclusion, in an hour and 20 minutes, you can do better things than watch this cinematic abomination, as it's not even worth watching the trailer; it has no characters, plot, comedy, or soul, resulting in a vague, boring, and vulgar project.

  • a good remake for the whole family

Jumanji (1995) is a film that over the years has become a classic of cinema and pop culture. It told a new story with novel effects for its time. Therefore, adapting it in 2017 was a risky move, as it was unknown whether audiences would support the changes or disagree with the 22-year-old version. Fortunately, the film was wonderfully received by audiences. However, did it really deserve the huge success it had?

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) tells the story of a group of four teenagers who are sent to school for different reasons to be detained. They find a video game called Jumanji. They decide to skip the detention and start playing it. To their surprise, they are teleported into the video game and have to complete levels and risk their lives to complete the game and escape. In the process, the four completely different kids get to know each other and connect with each other, sharing a message of support, inclusion, and teamwork.

This movie, if it has something to highlight, is its good comedy, featuring the duo of Kevin Hart along with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who give it a touch of humor by playing characters that are totally opposite to what they are. Kevin Hart plays a brave, big, athletic, and social boy, while Dwayne Johnson plays a young video game fanatic, shy, skinny, lacking self-confidence, and antisocial. The result of this gives us hilarious situations in which Hart has more authority than Johnson, which is totally the opposite of what we are used to in previous films in which they get together.

This film has a very important message for young children and viewers in general because it teaches that it's normal for everyone to be different from one another, but we must respect those differences to achieve a good atmosphere and a good coexistence anywhere. This is important because this feature film manages to teach you and help you reflect on something that could possibly be a problem, but you haven't realized it. The problem is that it's taught with a cinematic cliché: the story of four teenagers with some flaws who realize their flaws when they see them from another person's point of view. Therefore, the reflection was obvious from before the film's conclusion.

In conclusion, it's a film with a message and a good cast, but nothing more, planned for young viewers from 7 to 13 years old, since there are moments that are tedious for older audiences due to the silly humor that is sometimes used. But this doesn't mean the film is bad, because for spending an afternoon or evening with the family, it's great and highly recommended.

  • don't forget a good supply of body bags.

Rambo is currently a cinematic icon with millions of fans worldwide. But what did Rambo do to so captivate a global audience? The success of this film wasn't due to luck, as it shows how to make an action movie with a message, something that is rare today.

This feature film tells the story of John Rambo, a war veteran trying to re-enter society after suffering torture and loss in the Vietnam War. The conflict begins when, upon arriving in a small town, they try to arrest him on charges of vagrancy. In the process, his war memories are revived. He brutally escapes by hiding in a forest. This leads to an ambush by the federal government to capture Rambo. The film ends with Rambo, after destroying much of the town, surrendering himself, along with a deep reflection on the traumas of war veterans.

This film stands out for its high-quality action and practical effects, which impress and even disgust the viewer. Rambo's character is very well-developed, as he is an observant and quiet person, presented as a killing machine. This makes the final reflection even more impressive, as Rambo breaks down in tears, expressing to the audience his desperation to fit into society and how he feels excluded, no longer considered a human being but, as I said before, a machine. This demonstrates that no matter how many he kills, he is a character with feelings and humanity.

Another thing worth highlighting is Sylvester Stallone's sublime performance, which manages to generate a sense of aggression and danger in the audience, but at the end, he manages to give the audience something profound that touches the hearts of every viewer. He manages to suffer so convincingly that the audience itself feels and mostly understands Rambo's feelings, implying that a connection between the audience and the main character was created, which is crucial.

In conclusion, it is a film that is understandable why it connected with the public, because it shows that all people have humanity, even the most aggressive and quiet like Rambo, it is very well directed and scripted, making it a feature film that any film fan should see.
