I saw this with a friend; you could say it is they were brought and very gifted but without tremendously hard work would never have gotten so far. Her story. She's a Chinese immigrant and this is very similar to her wildly successful life in the US after she immigrated from China.
It's not only a true story but a fairly common one; Chinese who worked very hard, endured the Cultural Revolution and somehow got to this country to achieve great success.
It should be viewed by all teens and those in their 20"s who think they work so hard. Most Americans don't know what hard work is compared to these people. Highly recommend an interesting and true story.

This topic is very important and timely, but the movie missed the mark on portraying it deeply and offering suggestions to help the problem. Especially since George Floyd's death, camps have formed with very diverse opinions and seemingly no way to talk to one another. There is a great liberal/ conservative and black/ white divide in this country, but the movie made no attempt to look at the roots of these problems and how one might adopt ways to relate to folks that hold differing points of view. There was a subplot involving dating that I found very sexist and shallow.
I was disappointed. I'd hoped to hear different ideas and viewpoints that could be discussed. Back to the drawing board for this script!
