Slotherhouse (2023)
Great Creature Feature
Fun dark horror comedy, with a great creature, puppetry and storyline. This sloth was quick and ruthless :-( Effects were done well, and the actors did their part, making it all believable. If you are looking for a fun horror, with a cuddley sloth, who collects bodies, then this is for you. 6/10 :-) Fun dark horror comedy, with a great creature, puppetry and storyline. 6 Underground (2019)
Action at its Best
The first 15 minutes of this is why Michael Bay is king of action. Fast paced, in beautiful locations, with Ryan Reynolds, Dave Franco (if only briefly) and Sebastian Roche (again briefly). Watch out for the nice little self product placement around 39 minutes in.
Shadow of the Missing (2018)
Not Good
This movie was pointless and seemed to lose it's story line. The interviews throughout appear to try and tie the story together but even they can't save it from its self. Characters are introduced yet go nowhere. The only reason to even give this a view is to see Dan Thomas, his humour appears to be the only saving grace.
Deception (2018)
A slight of hand in crime fighting
Geez, reading through some of these reviews and they are harsh.
If you are looking for a decent police procedural show (which l usually am) this isn't bad. The cast is good looking and can act, the quality of production is good and the story lines are interesting.
Now if only l could get a new crime show with a dead body at the beginning and a mystery to solve at the end, l'd be happy.
Married by Christmas (2016)
This is not a feel good Christmas flick
So the movie starts with a strong female lead who has been working hard for several years building the family business. Low and behold her sister rocks up to announce that she's getting married Christmas eve. All hell breaks loss because apparently there is some family contract which states which ever girl marries first her new husband gets the business...WHAT, l know crazy talk right, but on no that's the premise.
If you want to watch a Christmas flick with a selfish sister, parents who let their daughter work hard to get passed over, then this is the movie for you. I on the other hand, enjoy my Christmas movies to make me feel good at the end and although often predictable, happy at Christmas.
All this movie will do is make you angry and ask why a channel like UP would even think this story line was worthwhile. Sorry people but I'll be sticking to my Hallmark movies from now on at Christmas.
Kevin Can Wait (2016)
If You Like Canned Laughter...this is for you
This show could have been good, but wasn't. The canned laughter is horrible, and was always overpowering the dialogue. There were times at the beginning when this laughter was nonstop. I mean you couldn't hear a thing....and the joke hadn't even been played out. There were perhaps 3 funny lines in the whole 20 minutes. And how old is he supposed to be? I mean the guy has retired from the police force in his mid 40's, what kind of income do officers make these days that this dude is set for life. Oh hang on, he needs to rent out his garage or get another job. What a load of rubbish. The characters have all been seen before, with better scripts. Give this a missed. One star from me.
Dr. Ken (2015)
Why are there so many haters?
Look l just read all the previous reviews and don't get how they didn't laugh.
Yes it is a fast paced show for a short period of time, sure they could have dragged out the story lines, but why would you.
Everyone in our family were laughing at different bits in the show. It is a fun family show that depicts things that happen in everyday life, obviously these days people are so sensitive that they can't even laugh at the things we all know to be true.
Don't read what the haters are saying, watch the show and decide if it's the kind of humour that's for you.
Dissection (2012)
So good l wanted more
A great little short that 'dissects' some old and new horror films with a twist. Loved the main guy's reasoning when certain movies were mentioned.
I even paused it a few times to read some of the movies which lined the walls in the background as there were so many great titles.
This was an unusual concept for a short movie idea as it could have quite easily become a full feature.
Would enjoy to see what this writer/director does next as he seems to have original ideas, unlike what's coming out of Hollywood these days and all their remakes.
