What this has in budget it more than makes up for in passion from both the filmmakers and the cast. One thing that puts me off is the cinematography in most b horror but this isn't an issue here and you won't get much better in any low budget film. A man hits a young girl on an icy road and instead of telling anyone he decides to sort it himself. Her mother is into tarot reading and the dark arts so obviously doesn't turn out good for him. I really liked the sense of dread throughout the movie, really seemed to work. This movie really relies on a good story and it doesn't disappoint. The acting is really good from everyone involved. Line between the living and dead is really thin in this movie. If you're on the fence about watching it then I'd really recommend you do. I watch a lot of low budget horror movies and this is one of the best I've seen in a long while. Will be sure to look out for more films with this director. Thanks for reading ✌🏽
I very rarely rate a movie 10/10 as it means there is no room for improvement. That's exactly how I felt when watching this. These days the time loop thing is done to death, in 2009 it was still reasonably fresh. This isn't your typical time loop movie anyhow. Starts out as almost slashers do and anyone could be forgiven in thinking it's just gonna be your run of the mill slasher in the first 20 minutes. Once it gets going it doesn't stop. Melissa George is great as the lead. This movie has so many layers it's hard to know where to start...or finish. Not since Mulholland Drive have I had the urge to read up on what others felt of a film, so much so I actually spent months doing it. The only film I have watched again straight after the first viewing. The only bad thing I could possibly say about it is the fact that Christopher Smith hasn't came close to making a movie this good since. Very similar to Timecrimes 2007.
This is really bad. Thought I'd give it a go as the rating was 5.4 on here and when you watch as many horror films as I do you know that is is reasonably high for a b horror. This was just bad, wouldn't quite qualify for 'so bad it's good' as it's not a fun movie in the slightest. There were no laugh out loud moments and the acting was...well I wouldn't even call it acting. The soundtrack made it sound like a lifetime romance film and the lighting was way off. I haven't mentioned the cinematography which is never really good for these type of movies but it was still bad. Once it settles this will probably be around 2.3 to 3.4 on here, the reason it's at 5.4 is because it only has 17 votes. Definitely not a 5.4 horror. You'll probably enjoy this if you worked on it, if not then there's nothing here. No real bloody scenes, no real horror, no atmosphere and I've already said about the acting. 3/10 as I've seen worse.
