Vikings is without a doubt one of the greatest historical series ever made. It delivers unforgettable characters like Ragnar, Lagertha, Bjorn, and Ivar, each with meaningful arcs that keep the audience fully invested. The battles are epic, both visually and narratively, and the dialogue carries emotional weight that makes many scenes unforgettable. The show shines brightest in the first three seasons: compact, direct, and free of filler, with every episode feeling necessary. Season 4, despite its length, justifies the 20 episodes with huge twists and key developments. However, seasons 5 and 6 suffer from the opposite-stretching to 20 episodes makes the pacing drag and the story feel unnecessarily prolonged. That choice holds the series back from perfection. Still, it remains a masterpiece that blends history, drama, and action brilliantly, earning its place in a top 5 of favorite shows. Rating: 9/10.
An emotional conclusion with the grandeur a series like Vikings deserved. Ivar's death is the most controversial element: while it adds drama and symbolism, it feels somewhat forced, as if his ending needed more buildup to truly match the weight of his character. Still, it manages to deliver emotion and close his arc in a dignified way. The rest of the episode works very well as a farewell: storylines find their resolution, and it feels like a definitive goodbye-melancholic but also peaceful. The positive side is the overall closure, honoring the story and its characters. The downside is the sense that Ivar's end could have been much more epic. All in all, a solid final episode, full of weight and emotion, deserving a 9.
A complete episode that delivers everything you'd want at this stage of the series: tension, emotion, and payoff. The battle is well executed, bringing back that signature controlled chaos that Vikings does so well. The events in Kattegat keep the suspense high, blending politics, betrayal, and desperation. And as the perfect closing touch, the reunion between Floki and Ubbe is deeply emotional-a moment that feels truly earned after such a long journey. The positives are everywhere: action, intrigue, and heartfelt emotion all balanced perfectly. The negatives? Hard to find in this case, since the episode succeeds from start to finish. A well-deserved 10.
