While Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire doesn't have the biggest narrative or story as the previous three, it still manages to build an entertaining concept built on a very interesting mystery and it also introduces some of the best characters in the franchise. I've always been a fan Mad-Eye Moody, most likely because of my bias towards the wonderful Brendan Gleeson. Which he was a good addition in here, unless you want to get technical but i don't want to spoil. Also to state to obvious, the first appearance of Lord Voldemort happens in this film.
And it definitely was worth the huge amounts of build up the previous films set up. And there's also Robert Pattinson as Cedric, he did great. I will say they kinda butchered my boy Ron in here. Why is he such a crybaby?? Anyways that's definitely one of the biggest pros about this film, the cast of characters are so fun here! As i said before, plot is also really cool. Having this tournament happen at Hogwarts is an interesting idea, that was handled pretty damn well in my eyes. Every tournament stage was awesome and memorable in their own right. To the dragon fighting to the mermaids, to the ever so iconic maze!!
Honestly may be the best final act of the series so far. It's so tense and dark. Really surprisingly dark, since this movie wasn't on the super bleak side of things until that final act. It gets depressing towards the end so buckle up! Overall Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is my second favorite so far. As i said before, compared to the previous three, this one doesn't tell that big of a narrative. It focuses more on these characters and the school and of course the tournament. It's just an entertaining and really fun time.

Pretty much on par with the original for me. It has a lot of fun moments towards the front half, like the whole flying car thing. And the screaming plants. I also enjoyed the mystery side of things a lot in here. It had me interested and engaged the whole time, and even had me piecing some of the pieces together. Of course the returning characters are great and their performances are even better.
But there was also some new characters that i really enjoyed as well. Of course Dobby is classic! Such funny moments from him and he is just too adorable. But i also loved Lockhart for how egotistical and ridiculous he could be. This movie is the longest in the franchise, and surprisingly the runtime didn't wear on me so i have to give the film credit for that. I won't lie though i enjoyed the first half of the film a hell of a lot better than the second half.
Not to say that the conclusion was unsatisfying, but it kinda recycled the twist of the previous film and the final battle was sort of lackluster for the huge build up the movie made. Overall Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a fun follow up and is most likely neck and neck towards the original for me. I will say this installment had more fun with the concept, and that's most likely because they didn't have to tell an origin story, considering the characters were set up in the first film. Anyways i really enjoyed this movie.
