I've seen and read more than half a dozen iterations of Sherlock Holmes, and after wishing for the latest BBC Sherlock to be dubbed in Hindi for far too long, I was excited for the Hindi adaptation. KK Menon is usually a great actor, but I don't know what happened here. Anyone who knows anything about Sherlock Holmes would know that although the plot is carried by clever deductions and simple yet intriguing cases, the way you portray Mr. Holmes is fundamental and non-negotiable. KK Menon seems to try too hard to imitate previous iterations, especially Jeremy Brett it seems. Unfortunately, he doesn't do that successfully either. Before this, I used to think that RDJ did it the worst, but now KK Menon lags behind, and not by a small margin. There are some stories that are plot-centric, like Game of Thrones, and some that are character-centric. Sherlock Holmes is the latter kind. KK Menon misses the sharp-eyes, erect posture, firm speech and steadfastness that the character requires. I wonder if he gets the character or is even interested in it. This is why, the episodes feel dull and boring despite the stories. I'd go as far to wonder if BBC sabotaged the show on purpose.
How could I otherwise explain such great actors delivering a dud?

This movie is the quintessential example of how Indian parents refuse to take ANY accountability for how they raise their children and still expect perfect children. Someone once said that Indian parents are the worst kind of people to become parents. In his many soliloquies, Govind Pathak doesn't ever question himself or his decisions. "Your child calls you once a week? Why not twice a day? Must be a bad child". While we're at it, let's blame a 12 year old child for not taking perfect decisions, and then expect him to pay money that you CHOSE to spend on him. The plot drags on and on, and just when you think the complaints are over, the movie still goes on. When it comes to Indian parents, there's never an other side, they act perfectly, and they're never in the wrong. We never get to hear the side of their children because there is none.
